Blue House Day Nursery and Preschool in Croydon offers an exceptionally high standard of childcare and education for children from the age of 3 months to 5 years old. Children will experience a happy family atmosphere in a homely environment that gives reassurance and familiarity in a well equipped building with a garden play area. The nursery and preschool consists of four main base rooms, this means that children are able to be separated in accordance to their age and stage of ability. The nursery operates a Key Person Approach, the idea of this is that children are able to bond with familiar adults and parents have a main point of contact.
At Blue House our ethos is based on the understanding that children are foremost their own educators - natural learners with ability, curiosity and imagination. A child's experience in the early years has a major impact on their future. We believe each child deserves the best possible start in life and the support to fulfill their potential. As professionals we nurture their learning by providing the opportunity and tools to enable all our children to be happy, secure and independent individuals. Our nursery follows the government's Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in order to provide the assurance to parents or carers that our care and education provision will keep their children safe and support their learning. In a typical day, children can participate in creative activities, sand and water play, story time and circle time, as well as having fun outdoors. We also offer plenty of extracurricular activities here onsite.
We recognise the importance of working in partnership with our parents. Some of the ways in which we do so include the following:
- Parents evenings every six months.
- Information Evenings
- Parent Nursery Association - which includes representatives from each area of the Nursery meeting regularly with the management team
- Social Events for our Parents and children to attend
- Open Door policy - parents are always able to give any feedback to our staff team
Flexible Day Nursery and Preschool Sessions
Whether you require full time early years education or part time childcare for your child the nursery will do their upmost to accommodate your requirements.
We provide childcare from 8am to 6pm, 50 weeks per year (closed for a week of staff development in May, between Christmas and New Year and on Bank Holidays). Children can attend our nursery or preschool for full days (8am to 6pm) or half days (8am to 1pm or 1pm to 6pm). Early drop offs (7.30am) and late pick-ups (6.30pm) are available if required, speak with our manager to find out more.
Our nursery and preschool services are fully inclusive so your child will receive meals, snacks, milk, even nappies are provided. See Meals and Nutrition for further information.
